- Looking at maps and walking around the local area and noting familiar features, focussing on the canal.
Visit Snibston Discovery park and label map of area and what each area is used for.

- The seaside- reading postcards from holidays and looking at where destinations are in relation to Derby on a map.

Making holiday brochures for the places we have visited.

Using various sources to find out information- internet, books, holiday brochures/ leaflets.  

Ideas at home

Talk to the children about what they liked about their holidays and draw pictures of their favourite parts of their break.

Visit local parks and places of interest and see what water features there are in different places.
